RIP Google Glass Enterprise: Sales for Smart Glasses End

Remember Google Glass? It looks like the smart glasses line is finally dying out. On Wednesday, Google announced it's discontinuing the enterprise edition of the product, which had been retailing for $999. Despite the discontinuation of Glass Enterprise, Google told PCMag it still remains “deeply committed” to augmented reality products. “For years, we've been building AR into many Google products and we’ll continue to look at ways to bring new, innovative AR experiences across our product portfolio,” the company said in a statement.

Google executive Jack Buser has now admitted that the company is no longer offering the white label version of Stadia that allowed companies like AT&T and Capcom to let anyone try games like Batman: Arkham Knight, Control, and a demo of Resident Evil Village for free over the internet, not to mention the first game from Peloton.

Google launches first Android beta for ad-tracking overhaul

Around this time last year, Google revealed it was working on a multiyear initiative to improve privacy and remodel ad tracking on Android phones, bringing the mobile platform in line with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency feature for iOS. Google says the first beta for Privacy Sandbox on Android will start rolling out tomorrow to a limited number of Android 13 devices.

Google’s AI chatbot Bard makes factual error in first demo

A GIF shared by Google shows Bard answering the question: “What new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope can I tell my 9 year old about?” Bard offers three bullet points in return, including one that states that the telescope “took the very first pictures of a planet outside of our own solar system.” However, a number of astronomers on Twitter pointed out that this is incorrect and that the first image of an exoplanet was taken in 2004 — as stated here on NASA’s website.
